There was a time when we’d put our small change into a piggy bank and watch the savings grow. These days, round-up bank accounts put the savings on autopilot, including Douugh.
It works like this: each time you make a card purchase using your Douugh checking account card, the amount (over $1) is rounded up to the nearest dollar, with the difference being transferred to your Stash Jar.
So, your round-up is set to the nearest $1. When you use your card to buy a $3.50 cappuccino, a total of $4 will come out of your checking account, with $3.50 going towards the coffee, and the remaining 50c being transferred to your chosen Stash Jar.
The beauty of round-ups is that the sums transferred are small, so you’re less likely to miss the extra cash coming out of your account. As we move towards a cashless society, round-ups provide an effortless way to put our digital small change to work.
A round-up is a simple way to save money. Every time you buy something, we’ll round up the cost to the nearest dollar and save the change to one of your Jars.
To turn it on, just create a new Jar and toggle Roundup transactions in the Autopilot Hub.
If you've already got a Jar that you want to add round-ups to, go to the Autopilot Hub and toggle the Roundups option.
All purchases paid for with your Douugh checking account card will be rounded up. They must be over $1 to be rounded up.
Note: Any transactions using your Bills Jar virtual card are not included.
